Following, monitoring and analyzing ensure that companies have a chance of successful results – but offer no guarantee. As a company, listen as actively as possible and to the right people. Do not blindly chase followers, but ensure that people are genuinely interest and can make a valuable contribution to the objectives. People who (temporarily) connect to a company via social mia for a reward are of little value for R&D or ROI.
Integrity of information flows
Be open, honest, transparent and accessible. Many business posts are not read, even if they are relevant, once you have understood manageable and timely. I am convinc that short-term visibility can be subordinate to long-term findability, provid that companies offer honest information flows, a proper balance between real and commercial posts and a stable business base. If that means that companies do not use social mia for webcare and do not participate in expensive and oh so hip explod online campaigns, that is more than fine.
The raison d’être of social mia lies in no or hardly any advertisements, excellent possibilities for communication in (clos) groups and a clean design – in capital letters and with exclamation marks as far as I’m concern. In addition, simple use so less is more – especially with regard to Facebook where we will remain for the time being despite everything, and reliable and simple (privacy) settings. Finally, stricter requirements for apps on open platforms and aim at mobile. Whether we as users want to search engine optimization mails pay for this, remains to be seen.
Critical voices about social mia
Jeroen Bertrams’ book is a smooth read. The simple layout is very pleasant, as is the paperback format. In not too many there are many things people words we hear a critical sound about social mia and various current studies are us for argumentation. I would have lik to have found an indication of the readership in the blurb. The book is suitable for beginners. For pros, there is only confirmation of the known. The title of the book gives me the idea of more depth, while certain themes remain superficial.
