With ‘only’ a few hundred options I sometimes found it difficult. And the world has not become any easier in that respect. Nowadays you can choose between live TV or TV on demand, streaming or downloading. Via TV, laptop, tablet or phone. Thousands of series, films or programs.
That’s why I’m curious how today’s youth deal with this excess. What strategies have they developed to make a choice?
Mini-survey ‘What are you watching?’
The inspiration for this article came from a small study in which I asked a number of boys aged 18 to 25 to keep track por que sua empresa precisa de um banco de dados of what they watch and via which medium (TV, laptop, tablet, smartphone) for 2 weeks.
The participants tracked their behavior using an app on their mobile phone. They took a photo or screenshot and added an explanation. A research tool that fits very well with the experience of this target group, and therefore provides a lot of rich data. For me as a researcher, this is very valuable, because singapore lead I gained insight into the behavior at the moment itself and could ask in-depth questions where necessary or start a discussion between the participants.
