LinkedIn, the business social platform,

Publish English content : and therefore especially not limit the fanbase to the Netherlands. On Facebook, for example, you can make that content visible only to English-speaking users.
Taking good care of the business target group : take care of sponsors, this will generate money and can lead to more sponsorships in the future.
Getting started with sponsors (e.g. Twitter amplify) sharing exclusive content (replays, interviews):  digital magazine: everything you need to about!after all, it’s all about revenue and profit.

How are the Eredivisie clubs doing on social media?

Ajax is, with almost 2.6 million fans, the champion of the Netherlands when it comes to the number of fans on all social platforms. Together with FC Dordrecht, Ajax uses five of the seven platforms. All clubs use both Facebook and Twitter. On both platforms, Ajax is number 1, Feyenoord 2nd and PSV 3rd .

It is striking that PEC Zwolle is on Facebook in terms of fans in 16th place , nothing compared to their current position on the ‘normal’ ranking. On Twitter, Heracles Almelo is the most striking relegation candidate . For PEC Zwolle, NAC Breda and Willem II, social media presence is their Achilles heel . They only use Facebook and Twitter, they leave the other platforms alone.

ajax facebook

LinkedIn is not often used. Vitesse is the big title candidate here with more than double the number of fans than  the page should benumber two Go Ahead Eagles. There are only three clubs that have an official account, but none of these clubs really make active use of it.

Why aren’t the top clubs active here? Every football club has business places and skyboxes for ‘business’ relations.    marketing list  Why isn’t this rolled out further to LinkedIn? A large part of the business market is there.

YouTube

After Facebook and Twitter

YouTube is the big favorite of the football clubs. Here PSV won the battle for second place behind Ajax from Feyenoord. However, 6 of the 18 clubs are not to be found on YouTube. The most notable absentee is AZ Alkmaar.

This platform is perfect to watch matches of your favorite club or to watch interviews with your favorite players. I find it strange to say the least that only two thirds of the Eredivisie uses this to reach fans.
