That ‘popular page’ no longer exists and has been replaced by the ‘explore page’, a page where you see photos and people that are shown because of the people you already follow, your location and the hashtags you use. The strategy that Negin applied was therefore only so successful in the first few years of  technical challenges and solutions Instagram’s existence. Following relevant people, people from your industry or potential customers, is of course still a way to grow. It just doesn’t go as fast anymore.

How do people decide when to follow you on Instagram?

Media psychologist Mischa Coster recently told me that he did a study on the reasons people follow  will your next software project be successfulothers on Twitter. I think it’s no different on Instagram.  and the profile text and the decision is made based on the first 12  marketing list  pictures that are visible. At a glance they have to be able to place the subject of that account. So; do the pictures match what is said in the profile? Do you get a wow feeling with beautiful pictures of a subject that appeals to you? Do you feel attracted to the atmosphere – or lifestyle – that the pictures of the person or brand radiate?

Peeking into someone’s world

When you look at Instagram, it seems like the whole world can take pictures. Of course, there is a lot of junk, but also a lot of beautiful things. Most popular photos are not necessarily the best photos in terms of quality. Famous stars also take ugly photos, but as long as they post something personal, they can still count on tens of thousands of likes. Fans feel like they are allowed to look into the private life of someone they admire.
